Kanten Contemporary Wardrobe, Carefully Packaged and Iconic Pieces — Atelier Kanten Paris

BWelcome to the world of Kanten. If this is your first time discovering our brand, set aside the conventional norms of mass-market ready-to-wear for a moment: here, there are no gendered sections, no aggressive sales, and no schedule dictated by frenzied fashion shows. We view clothing as a body architecture in motion, a thoughtful envelope designed to be your faithful companion for years to come.

Blending Berlin’s raw energy with the artisanal refinement of the Sentier workshops in Paris, Kanten (観点) explores a third path: that of a wardrobe that is at once radically functional, poetically minimalist, and respectful of living materials.

A Message from Stéphane, the Founder: «Clothing as a Refuge»

«When I created Kanten, my obsession was to eliminate all the little annoyances of everyday clothing: collars that scratch, buttons that pop off, synthetic fabrics that suffocate, and cuts that constrain the body. I wanted to offer a soft armor, a wearable sanctuary that instills a quiet confidence the moment you put it on.»

A Guide to the Three Signature Silhouettes in Our Wardrobe

To help you put together your first Kanten outfit, here are the three cornerstones of our core collection:

1. High Kinetic: The Flupke Jacket & the Hanpi Kimono

Inspired by the traditional Japanese hanten worn by Edo artisans, the Flupke jacket is our most iconic piece. It features a liberating batwing armhole and our exclusive system of hidden neodymium magnetic closure which closes on its own with just a light touch of the hand. For the warmer months, the Hanpi Kimono, made of unlined cotton twill, offers the same airy, elegant look with a light, breezy feel.

2. Architectural Bottoms: The Shaka Bermuda Shorts & the Haka Pants

No more tight, stifling pants. Our bottoms are inspired by the deep pleats of the hakama samurai-inspired details to create a sculptural silhouette around the legs. Featuring a high, semi-stretch waistband with offset belt loops, they offer complete freedom of movement whether you're sitting or walking briskly.

3. Le Jersey Noble: 240g T-shirts and Atelier Custom Lab

Our T-shirts are made from a heavyweight 240 g/m² organic cotton jersey that never loses its shape in the wash. You can choose them featuring our prints in hand-printed screen printing or design your own custom pattern in our interactive studio Custom Lab.
